Our Home Tour

Now that most of our BIG projects are done, we thought it would be nice to do a little tour of the place.

This was our courtyard garden last year, when it was still a baby.

Here it is now in May of 2016.

You might also have noticed...
A. We stained the porch floor
B. That fountain we had last year is now a planter (yep, it died, and broke and became an upcycling project.
Come on in...

Buster at the door © Rhiann Wynn-Nolet
Immediately to the left you'll see the sliding door we created for our office. There's a whole post on that DIY right here.

Here's our foyer.

From the other direction...decorated for the holidays.

Don't you just love the light we added?

We also did a post on 8 Tips for Creating a Great First Impression. If you're curious, it's right here.
Behind the sliding door is our office. To increase the sense of calm and order, we jacketed our books with plain white paper. That helped, but this room is our Next Big Project.

If you continue straight through the foyer, to the left is a hallway to our master bedroom with en suite and our older daughter's room with her bathroom.
Here's our bedroom. As you can see it has a tray ceiling. There was an option for a ceiling fan, but we're hooked on chandeliers, so...

Across from the bed is a antique dresser. There's a DIY for how to create this look here.

We've changed the bed curtains a few times already. It's nice to have different looks for different seasons, right?

Now back toward the front door. Instead of going to the left, just go straight.

These pendants we added are awesome, aren't they? And how about that brick? Ron did that, and we'll be doing a DIY post about that very soon.

We believe cabinet hardware is a great place to show your style. We used a combo of industrial pulls and glass knobs.

And here's our dining room. We brought that chandelier from our previous house. We love it that much!

We did a planked wall at this end... photo taken during the holidays. If you want to know what the planking project involved, check out the post here.

Aren't those windows great? They let in so much natural light.
Here's a vignette for spring in our dining room.

We also planked the fireplace wall in the family room. And did a distressed finish on the mantel. Here's the how-to for that.
Yeah, we have a bit of a "thing" for chandeliers!

Let's not forget about the screened porch, one of our favorite places in the house!

And our half bath, which is small and has no natural light and is REALLY hard to photograph!
We did a cool buffalo check painted wall treatment in there though, Here is the how to.

As we finish projects and take photos we'll show you more. We hope you've enjoyed this small tour of our home and some of the projects we've done to make it feel like home.

Quince Cottage Style mixes old and new, rustic and opulent.
Our goal is to make our new subdivision house look inviting, beautiful,
and as though it wasn't born yesterday!
